The Victim/Witness Assistance Division furnishes victims, witnesses and family members of victims with needed information, advocacy and the opportunity to participate more effectively within the criminal justice system. This program ensures that victim rights, as provided by Louisiana law, are honored and protected.

While the division focuses primarily on victims of violent crime, it’s staff of victim/witness assistance coordinators will accommodate all crime victims whose cases are being prosecuted by this office, including elder abuse and neglect, domestic abuse and child abuse victims.
